Assistance Programs
AIM helps residents navigate the local safety-net system and provides direct support through our core programs.
Every service we offer is designed to meet people where they are: residents of Charlottesville and Albemarle County. We help them overcome the immediate crisis while laying the groundwork for long-term stability.
When a client's adult son became homeless, she welcomed him into her small one-bedroom apartment and gave up her bed so he would have a safe place to sleep. Night after night, she rested on the sofa until frequent falls put her at serious risk.
AIM provided a simple bed railing that brought her safety and peace at night.
Later, when mobility challenges made it difficult for her to get out of the bathtub and she was denied in-home care, AIM stepped in again, this time with a bathtub grab bar that restored her independence and dignity.
Small interventions. Life-changing impact.
